Pedestrian Dies After Being Hit by Car in Outaouais

Police are investigating a fatal collision that occurred on Highway 148 in Pontiac, Quebec on Tuesday morning.

According to the Sûreté du Québec (SQ), a pedestrian was struck by a car at around 6:45 a.m. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the car remained at the scene and is cooperating with police. The identity of the victim has not yet been released.

The SQ is investigating the cause of the collision. Highway 148 was closed in both directions for several hours while police investigated.
